Japanese artist Haroshi is a self-taught sculptor whose subculture-inspired practice effortlessly straddles spheres of pop culture and fine art.

GUZO, our debut collaboration, is a pair of sculpture editions representing Haroshi’s first ever work in marble — introducing his distinctive character stylings and motifs to an entirely new medium.

The natural patterning of marble means that no two pieces are the same.

The white edition is made in statuario marble, with the stone’s distinctive grey and gold veining lending each piece its own unique character. A stainless steel plate embedded in the base of the sculpture is signed, dated and numbered by the artist.

GUZO (white marble) is an edition of 50 accompanied by a second edition of 50 in black. For more details on GUZO (black marble), see here.

All collectors will be required to sign a 3 year non-resale agreement. Certificates of authenticity will be sent 6 months after purchase.

The edition will be verified by blockchain-based technology partner ZHEN. via a mobile app and a chip embedded in the foot of each sculpture. By purchasing the piece, you agree to Avant Arte sharing your personal information with ZHEN. for authentication purposes. Read more.
